GERMAN EDUCATION IS AS GOOD AS THEIR FOOTBALL– CONGRATULATIONS GERMANY ON A WELL DESERVED WORLD CUP GLORY!
Study Abroad 365 has put together a list of 25 universities in Germany that are tuition free for international students seeking to study in Germany. However, be informed that while studying in Germany, you’ll be required to finance your feeding and accommodation expenses. International students should budget roughly 500 Euros for their books, healthcare, food and registration. So in one year, an international student should expect to spend 7000 Euros on feeding, accommodation and books expenses.
HOW TO OBTAIN A VISA
To obtain a German visa, you’ll have to show concrete finance proof of your ability to finance your accommodation and feeding expenses during your time of study. This can be done in either of two ways:
(1) Submit a letter of finances to the German consulate or embassy. You can obtain this sponsor letter from your parents or a German relative who is willing to sponsor your studies in Germany.
(2) Open a German blocked account and deposit roughly 7000 euro. This can only happen once you’ve received your letter of admission. This blocked account is opened in the German embassy.
For more information, visit a German consulate in your home country or check out their websites for further details.

Hello,
I am an international student in The United States, studying Management in Information Systems here. I am originally from India, and I would like to do my MBA from Germany. Do you know if they are offering tuition free education for Indian nationals, and is there a possibility of becoming a German resident after completing studies in Germany?
Thank you!

Hi Somil, I'm afraid MBAs in Germany are not free - but you might be able to find a scholarship. To find out more about studying an MBA in Germany, please take a look at our sister site, TopMBA.com. You can become a German resident after graduating, firstly with an 18 month residence permit for while you look for employment, which can be extended when you take up employment. You can get a permanent residence permit after five years - read more here. :)

Hi Valery, your high school diploma should be sufficient for entry into an undergraduate degree (for free) at a public university in Germany, but if you'd like to double check, I'd advise contacting the institution/s you're interested in to find out their exact entry requirements. Hope this helps!

Hi Ketan, it is possible - you can study in English in Germany for free at undergraduate and PhD levels. Undergraduate degrees in English are quite hard to find, however. Masters degrees in English are more common but not generally free unless you've previously studied in Germany. To find out more, please take a look at this article. Hope this helps!

Hi Charles, I wouldn't have thought you'd need to attend a studienkolleg, as it's likely that your high school leaving certificate will be accepted. You will need to prove your proficiency in English to study in English in Germany however, with a test such as the IELTS - the university should state which English language test they prefer under the course information on their website. Hope this helps!

Hi Saurabh, public universities are those which are funded by the government. The public universities in Germany are generally held in higher esteem than the private universities, but the admission requirements will vary between universities. Hope this helps.

Hi,
I was reading through the complete guide to studying abroad in Germany.
In page no 5 in the requirements there is a point
"A translated overview of your course modules and grades"
What is that?
In page no 6
Since I am not an European. So an exam is to be seated for undergraduate. What is that exam? Where it is to be seated? When? In brief I need to know about that exam in detail.
Thanks.

Hi Annat, the translated overview of your grades and course modules is your high school diploma or equivalent, submitted in either German or English, although some universities accept this information in another language (you can ask your university of choice for more information). If you do not hold a high school diploma that allows you to commence your studies in Germany, you can take a preparatory course (Studienkolleg) to qualify for admission to university. After a year of instruction, you can take an assessment test (Feststellungsprüfung). If you pass this you'll be able to study any subject in Germany. You can find out more here. Hope this helps!

Hi, Sabrina Collier
I just witnessed the questions being responded by you as an advanced expert, I deem and so I would like to ask some brief question about German Universities and I hope for an excellent piece of mentoring.
I am Farrukh, from Uzbekistan but nowadays, I am studying BA in one of the South Korean Universities, Sejong University. What spectacularly caught my attention was studying chances and opportunities in Germany for international students. So I am kind of planning a specific set of plans for admission.
Also, I saw that the certificate is TestDAF which gives priority to study in Germany. I am planning to take this test this year back in Uzbekistan and make all the efforts to get admission from one of the universities in Germany. So, is there any university that you would advise me to obtain a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or any guideline that would fit an international students requirement.
