QS Best Student Cities ranking: 5th

In accordance with Germany’s growing status as an international study destination, the country has two entries in the top 10 of this year’s QS Best Student Cities. Munich, in fact, has surpassed Berlin and climbed up to fifth place, becoming one of the best destinations in the world for students.

Munich’s impressive feat was no doubt helped by its ranking in the desirability, employer activity and affordability indicators, probably due to the city’s lower prices compared to other European hubs, quality of life, ease of getting around, nightlife and Bavarian friendliness.

Moreover, no tuition fees are charged for undergraduate students at public universities in the majority of Germany, regardless of nationality.

As for universities in Munich, the city’s highest entrant in the QS World University Rankings® 2024 is Technical University of Munich in 37th place.
