A world of opportunity: graduate degrees and your varied career prospects

By: Tim Rogers

Peter MacDonald from QS considers how he has seen the market change in recent years: “Both candidates and employers are now looking for slightly different qualities than eight or nine years ago.  An increasing number of European employers, for example, are seeking more specific skills developed through studying at the specialized Masters level, rather than accepting the more generic skill developed at either the undergraduate or MBA levels.  This may be the best time ever to apply for your Master’s of PhD degrees and gain the rewards association with the degrees.”

With increasing numbers of applicants and more emphasis being placed on attaining advanced degrees by employers, can you afford not to consider your graduate future?  It certainly seems to be the right time to take a Masters or PhD degree.
