City University of Seattle is one of the Northwest's largest, private, not-for-profit universities with over 45,000 graduates worldwide. For over 30 years, we've helped people just like you change their lives by providing quality education in the most convenient manner possible.

Founded in the city of Seattle in 1973 as City College, the name of the institution was changed to City University in 1982 by an action of its Board of Governors. Influenced in its early organization by the recommendations of the Carnegie Commission Report and the Seattle 2000 Commission, the University was one of the nation's first to address the needs of the working adult.

In 1991 CityU launched its first European-based bachelor’s degree program in Slovakia. In 1993, this was followed by an exclusive partnership with the German Ministry of Labor to provide MBA education to qualified citizens from the former East Germany. By the year 2000 CityU had established BSBA and MBA programs in Slovakia, Czech Republic, Romania (in cooperation with the Romanian Banking Institute), Bulgaria, and Greece.

In 1999, in response to a market demand, City University of Seattle established its Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in Bulgaria. In 2002, as a result of the success of the MBA program and a continuing demand from the Bulgarian business community for a university educated workforce with business acumen, CityU launched its Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) program in the town of Pravetz only 60 km. from the capital city of Sofia.
