EDHEC Business School has a clear ambition for 2010, namely to be among the top 10 schools in Europe for general management education and research. EDHEC's strategic choice is to go back to its roots and what led it to be so successful from the outset, in other words, to serve the business world and facilitate our young graduates' entry onto the job market.

EDHEC's aim is to become the school that has a resounding impact on its market, on the business world and on the economy. In other words, whatever EDHEC does or will do will directly influence management thinking of course, but also, more widely the social and economic debate. This influence will be conveyed mainly through the School's research policy that puts the business world at the heart of its research.

In order to deploy its international strategy, EDHEC Business School must adapt its facilities extend its premises and offer its students a wider range of services. EDHEC chose an exceptional new site set on 8.5 hectares of parkland for the Lille expansion plan and the project for an extension of 7500m2 is underway in Nice.

Central to EDHEC Business School's development strategy is its ambition to be a leading European player and to make a major contribution to structuring a rapidly-changing international market, and to be positioned as one of the top general management and research institutions in Europe on a long-term basis.

By 2010, EDHEC aims to be the first choice Business School  among European business organisations for its students, it programmes and its research.

EDHEC Business School has been providing first-class education for more than 100 years and is constantly ranked in the Top 5 Business Schools in France.

Its flagship programme, the Master in Management ("Grande Ecole") is currently 9th in Europe in the Financial Times rankings. In the 2009 rankings of the French economic journal Le Point, EDHEC is ranked 1st in France for Finance with an impressive score of 100%.

EDHEC is fully accredited by the French government and was one of the first schools worldwide to be awarded the triple accreditation AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.

Faculty
Number of Faculty Staff Headcount: 130
Total number of academic faculty staff who are responsible for planning, directing and undertaking teaching only, research only or both teaching and research. Please include: vice-chancellors, deputy vice-chancellors, principals, professors, heads of school, associate professors, principal lecturers, tutors or postdoctoral researchers. Please exclude research assistants*, PhD students who contribute to teaching, and exchange scholars or visiting faculty staff who are members of another university. * The important distinction for us is that staff counted as 'research only' should be academically involved in that research and should be likely to publish research outputs. A research assistant, in our understanding, is any individual who is not doing own research and is therefore not likely to publish own research outputs. Said individual is (only) involved in research in terms of operation execution , such as lab technician or equipment operator.
Number of International Faculty Staff Headcount: 52
Number of academic faculty staff who are of foreign nationality. The term 'international' is hereby determined by citizenship. For EU countries, this includes all foreign nationals, even if from another EU state. In Hong Kong, this includes professors from Mainland China. Inclusion and exclusion mirrors those for academic faculty staff. In case of dual citizenship, the 'deciding' criteria should be 'citizenship obtained through birth', basically first passport obtained.

Number of academic faculty staff employed by your institution that have studied a PhD

Main claims to international academic or non-academic excellence

By obtaining the three main international accreditations, EQUIS, AMBA, and AACSB, EDHEC has joined the highly exclusive club of business schools with the prestigious triple crown. This puts EDHEC Business School on a par, in terms of visibility, with the best business schools around the world, attracting students from five continents, enabling the school to sign partnership agreements with the most prestigious universities and business schools, and motivating highly-qualified visiting faculty to apply to the school. This international recognition is the tangible reward for EDHEC Business School's ambitious strategy.

EQUIS Awarded 1999
The European Quality Improvement System is awarded by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). To date, only 97 institutions in 29 different countries have been awarded EQUIS accreditation. In each, the agreement covers all the programme units and courses in the school. The major standards are: a balance between academic excellence, teaching innovation, close corporate relations and a real international opening.

AMBA Awarded 2003
Since 1967, the Association of MBAs (AMBA) has been involved in developing an international standard for MBA programmes. This includes both full-time programmes such as our Theseus-EDHEC MBA, and part-time courses such as our Executive MBA. The major standards are: the organising institution, the content and timing of the programmes, the qualifications and experience of the teaching faculty and the background of eligible students. The degrees themselves are also taken into account both in terms of how they are awarded and in terms of their new market value and the value they add to the holder's career.

AACSB Awarded 2004
Since 1916, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) has brought together management teaching professionals at the highest level. Following a long evaluation process, the accreditation may be awarded to institutions able to demonstrate that their training programmes conform to the association's extremely rigorous standards.
