(A=4.0, B=3.0, C=2.0, D=1.0, E or F = 0.0) In our context, a value of 0 will imply to us that your institution has an "open access" admissions policy and will in no way count against your institution in any future table built upon this data. Main claims to international academic or non-academic excellence

Research Training Centers (GRKs) are university training programs established for a specific time period (up to nine years) to support young researchers in their pursuit of a doctorate. The Research Training Centers provide doctoral students with the opportunity to work within a coordinated research program run by a number of university professors.
Freie Universitaet Berlin hosts five GRKs, holds three in conjunction with other universities, and participates in six others. In addition Freie Universitaet is involed in five GRKs through Charité-University Medicine Berlin.
Junior Research Groups offer outstanding young scientists the possibility to work independently and to form their own research groups. In the past years several sponsoring institutions have begun such programs, including the participation of scientists from Freie Universitaet Berlin.
