Drawing on the UniversityÂ’s history and accomplishments, Hitotsubashi has promoted the study of leading-edge social science research expected to be in demand in the 21st century. As an education and research center of worldwide focus, Hitotsubashi aims to provide theoretical and practical solutions to important issues shared by Japan, Asia, and other countries. In order to realize these aims, Hitotsubashi is pursuing three missions: 1) Exploring and creating new areas within the social sciences, 2) Making intellectually and practical contributions to Japan and abroad, and 3) Nurturing intellectually advanced individuals, innovators, and political and economical leaders.

Range of Fees
Tuition for the 2008-2009 academic year is 535,800 yen.
Basic TOEFL/IELTS requirements
-- Graduate School of International Cooperate Strategy (MBA Program/DBA Program): If English is not your native language, or you have not graduated with a degree from a university in an English speaking country, or worked for over three years in an English speaking country, you must demonstrate competence in English by scoring over 600 (for the CBT: 250; for the iBT: 100) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
-- School of International and Public Policy (Asian Public Policy Program):
All applicants are required to have a good command of English. TOEFL score of 550 (for the CBT 213, for the iBT 79-80) or higher is required in principle.
Accommodation
Two university-housing options are available for international students.
-- Hitotsubashi University’s International Housing is located on campus. The International Housing has 54 rooms for single students, 6 rooms for married couples and 10 rooms for families.
-- International Village of Hitotsubashi University is located off campus. This
dormitory accommodates not only international and Japanese students of
Hitotsubashi University, but also international students of other universities. Currently, Hitotsubashi University has 175 rooms for single international students, 9 rooms for international married couples and 6 rooms for international families.
