Education Equality on NCTU Campus
Multiple channels for student admission ensure that NCTU will not overlook any talented students from either the metropolitan or rural areas. Such strategies allow NCTU to admit students who are more competent and diversified in their backgrounds. Aside from traditional entrance exams, more methods for evaluation have been considered by NCTU to accept gifted high school students. For first and second-year undergraduate students, NCTU devises additional interdisciplinary programs and module courses by coordinating among different departments within each college. The promotion of interdisciplinary and international programs is also emphasized by NCTU.
Enhancing A Flexible Enrollment Policy
With a focus on interdisciplinary developments, NCTU has launched an Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Science Program in addition to its renowned Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Undergraduate Honors Program, which is highly regarded and sought after by high school students interested in this particular discipline. We have also established the following programs for student enrollment: Nano-Science and Engineering Undergraduate Honors Program, Graduate Program for Science and Technology of Synchrotron Light Source and Master Program of Sound Music Innovative Technologies (SMIT).
Furthermore, the University spares no effort in creating an international environment for learning: We have launched a series of international programs for foreign students, amongst which are EECS-International program, IMBA-International program and International Graduate Program of Taiwanese Studies. Two other international programs are also proposed for future enrollments: Master Degree Program of International Industry R&D and Green Energy Technology Research Center.
