If you are an English native speaker or an EEA citizen who has studied in an English taught undergraduate programme, an English proficiency test is not required. All other applicants will have to take an English proficiency test.
You will have to prove your proficiency in English by sending in either an IELTS certificate (Overall minimum score of 6.5 and an average of 6.0 on each of the parts), a TOEFL certificate (minimum score paper based version 577, computer based version 233, Internet based version 90) or a Cambridge Proficiency.
We offer you a completely furnished student room for your first year in Tilburg. Most of the student residences are conveniently situated near the university or the city centre. Each student has his/her own room within a student unit. Kitchen, showers and toilets are shared with flatmates. The number of rooms on each floor can vary between 4 and 17. The rooms are between 12 and 20 square meters.
Accommodation is guaranteed for the first year only, which allows you time to look for another room. One month after the start of the academic year, the International Office will hold a workshop to inform you about how you can find a room.

Tilburg University offers 50 scholarships to excellent international students who are admitted to a Master's programme at Tilburg University (MA, MSc or LLM).
Tilburg University Scholarships for the academic year 2009/2010 included:
* A partial tuition waiver of EUR 7.812,- for non-EEA students. Students pay only the low undergraduate fee of EUR 2.484,- instead of the high graduate fee of EUR 10.296,-. EEA and Swiss students pay the same fee as Dutch students, which is EUR 1.620,-.
* EUR 5.000,- for the covering of living expenses for one academic year, both for EEA and non-EEA students.

Application Process
To qualify for a Tilburg University Scholarship, candidates must fulfill the following admission requirements:
* Candidates must have graduated with excellent results in their Bachelor's programme
* Candidates must have scored at least 577 in the TOEFL paper based test, 233 in the TOEFL computer based test, or 90 in the TOEFL internet based test or alternatively 6.5 in the IELTS test
* Candidates should provide two independent letters of reference
* Candidates must have been admitted to one of the Master's programmes at Tilburg University; they have to meet the particular programme's criteria
* Candidates must be able to comply with the conditions to obtain a Dutch visa, if applicable (see here for more information).
* Candidates are encouraged to apply for external scholarships like Huygens Scholarship Programme, Bappenas, Stuned and Netherlands Fellowship Programme as well. If a student receives an external scholarship, fully covering tuition waiver and living expenses, the Tilburg University Scholarship (including tuition waiver and living expenses) will be canceled. If an external scholarship would be less then the Tilburg University Scholarship, the Tilburg University Scholarship will be awarded partially.
When you apply for a Master's programme at Tilburg University you will automatically be considered for the Tilburg University Scholarship Programme. If you meet the requirements for the scholarship the University will contact you and ask you to send two reference letters to start the scholarship application process. If you think you meet the requirements you can also include the reference letters with your Master's programme application to speed up the process.
