The University of Aberdeen
Founded in 1495, the University of Aberdeen is one of the UK's most internationally distinguished universities, combining ancient tradition with the best in modern teaching and learning facilities. It has a student population of around 14,500 and a large international community of students drawn from 120 different countries. There are opportunities to undertake supervised research in all departments of the University and over 140 taught Masters degrees.

The University has an excellent reputation for teaching quality and research, and, over the years, four Nobel Prizes have been awarded for work carried out or begun at Aberdeen. The 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) assessed 89% of Aberdeen’s research activity as being of international quality and 55% as either world-leading or internationally excellent.

Students are attracted by our tradition which is rooted in our 500 year history - but we are focused firmly on the future and are at the forefront in many areas of arts and social sciences, in science, computing, engineering and technology, and in ground-breaking disciplines focused firmly on the 21st century. 97% of our graduates enter into good jobs, research posts or further study within six months of graduating.

We are committed to helping students settle in quickly, achieve their ambitions and develop their talents and interests. Here you'll find study options to suit your academic interests, and social and leisure activities that will contribute to your overall well-being, enjoyment and personal growth. We also have over 150 sports clubs and societies for students to join, not to mention our own radio station and weekly newspaper!

We offer the very best learning and support facilities for students. We have one of the largest and best equipped libraries in Scotland, the largest wireless campus in Europe and a Support Service that provides friendly and expert guidance on a range of areas - academic, personal, medical and financial.

Said individual is (only) involved in research in terms of operation execution , such as lab technician or equipment operator.
