The University of Liverpool is one of the UK's top research-led institutions and one of the elite Russell Group universities. Founded in 1881, the University has been at the cutting edge of teaching and research for over 120 years. The University is ranked 29th in the UK in the Sunday Times University Guide and 119th in the world in the World University Rankings published by the THES.
The University is in the top 10 in the UK in terms of research income with an annual income of £58 million. In the most recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), 93% of our staff were classified in the highest bands of 4, 5 and 5*. We have a long history of attracting top researchers: the University is associated with 8 Nobel Prize winners including Sir Ronald Ross (1902) who discovered the link between mosquitoes and malaria transmission.
Masters and PhD programmes are available in all 6 of the University's Faculties: Arts, Engineering, Medicine (which includes Dentistry), Social and Environmental Studies, Science and Veterinary Science.
