Introduction to BI Norwegian School of Management

BI Norwegian School of Management was founded in 1943 as a private, non-profit foundation teaching evening classes in accounting and is now, more than 60 years, later a fully fledged, internationally oriented business school with an excellent reputation in research. BI hosts Norway's largest and leading milieu within the areas of business economics and administration, marketing and management. The school received EQUIS accreditation in 1999 and was reaccredited in 2005.

BI has become the second largest institute of higher education in Norway and the largest business school in Europe with over 20,000 students and 450 faculty members. BI boasts a wide range of part-time and full-time programs in the areas of business administration, management, marketing and finance taught in Norwegian and English.

BI is the only academic institution in Norway that offers fulltime programs taught in English at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. BI has a strong international profile through its exchange programs with international partners all over the world, the international degree seeking students in its full time degree programs and its international operations in China andLithuania . BI has now moved to a new, purpose-built Campus in Oslo that in many ways is the 'Business School of the future'. Here students from all the international programs are able to enjoy excellent facilities in what probably is one of the most modern and up-to-date teaching and research environments in the area of Business Administration!

BI's Master of Science program BI's Master of Science program is a two year, 120 ECTS credits program for students who preferably have taken their bachelor education in the area of Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics etc. The MSc does not require work experience. The MSc program offers the best of what BI has to offer: state of the art knowledge based on cutting edge research. 'Research is a key strength to this school, even if measured against other top European business schools' concluded the report published by the EQUIS evaluation committee in 2005. The MSc program culminates in the MSc thesis (30 ECTS credits or one semester.) Student admitted to the MSc program may apply to spend one semester abroad at one of BI's many international partners.
