De La Salle Universities were established through the legacy of St. John Baptist De La Salle and the Christian Brothers teaching order, which was founded 325 years ago. La Salle is an educational community shaped by traditional Catholic and Lasallian values: a deep respect for each individual, a belief that intellectual and spiritual development goes hand-in-hand, a passion for creative teaching and learning, and a conviction that education should be usefulfor personal growth, professional advancement, and service to others. Currently, the lasallian community makes presence in about 82 countries worldwide, one of those in Bogota - Colombia. MAIN FACTS Universidad de La Salle Bogotá was established on November 15, 1964. It is a private and nonprofit Higher Education Institution.
In 2008, Universidad de La Salle Colombia was recognized with High Quality Accreditation among the best 20 universities in the Country- by the Ministry of National Education and in 2009 was accredited with the certification ISO 9001:2008.
The total University student body is of 14.520 undergraduate students and 740 graduate students.
Most students come from the different regions in Colombia and some international students come from South American countries mainly, but it certainly has students from the U.S.A., Europe and Asia who participate in study abroad, internships or volunteering programs.
It has eight Research Centers with the I+D formula (Investigation + Development) to promote scientific and technological activities.

Las Universidades de La Salle se han establecido a través del legado de San Juan Bautista de La Salle y la Orden de los Hermanos de las Escuelas Cristianas fundada hace 325 años. La Salle es una comunidad educativa formada por las tradición católica y los valores lasallistas: un profundo respeto por cada individuo, la creencia de que el desarrollo intelectual y espiritual van mano a mano, una pasión por la enseñanza y el aprendizaje creativos, y la convicción de que la educación debe ser útil para el crecimiento, el desarrollo profesional y el servicio a los demás. En la actualidad, la comunidad Lasallista hace presencia en 82 países en todo el mundo.
La Universidad de La Salle - Bogotá se estableció el 15 de noviembre de 1964. Es una organización privada sin ánimo de lucro y es una Institución de Educación Superior.
DATOS GENERALES
El cuerpo estudiantil de la Universidad total es de 14,520 estudiantes en pregrado y 740 estudiantes de posgrado. La mayoría de los estudiantes provienen de las diferentes regiones de Colombia y algunos estudiantes internacionales provienen de países sudamericanos, principalmente, pero sin duda tenemos los estudiantes de los EE.UU., Europa y Asia. Cuenta con ocho Centros de Investigación con la fórmula I + D (Investigación + Desarrollo) para promover actividades científicas y tecnológicas.
Actualmente se han constituido ocho centros transdisciplinarios y un centro escuela.
