Introduction to Universidad Politecnica de Valencia

The Universitat Politècnica de València is a dynamic and innovative public institution that is dedicated to research and investigation. At the same time, it is bond to the social environment where it develops its activities. It is also focused on the international scene.

The university is a young institution that began in 1968. A few of its centers were created 100 years ago, such as the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería del Diseño (previously known as the Escuela Universitaria de Ingeniería Técnica Industrial), the Escuela Politécnica Superior de Alcoy and the Facultad de Bellas Artes.

Living together is important for the Universitat Politècnica de València, as it is a part of the educational project that students and teachers on the 3 campuses (Vera, Alcoy and Gandia) participate actively in.

Currently, the population at the university is about 45.200. About 40.000 students, 2.800 teachers and 2.400 staff working in administration and the service sectors. The UPV is made up of 13 university centers: 9 technical schools, 2 faculties and 2 higher polytechnic schools. Moreover, there are 2 associate centers (School of Industrial Engineering-Ford Spain and Florida University).
