UTS provides students with technologically advanced facilities to support their academic, social and sporting life at university, including 24-hour access to computer labs and one of the most technologically capable libraries in the Southern Hemisphere. Future students can also look forward to a revitalised campus including the newly completed multi-purpose sports hall, with indoor sports court, a gym and dance studio, tutorial and change rooms, and on-campus accommodation for 720 students.

UTS maintains strong relationships with local industry and the professions. The university has a Vice-Chancellor’s Industry Advisory Board, comprised of CEOs and visionary leaders representing the broad spectrum of industries integral to UTS. We are a founding member of the Australian Technology Network (ATN), an influential alliance of five leading Australian technology universities building strategic partnerships to undertake solution-based research.
Recognised courses. Many of our courses have accreditation with a wide range of professional associations and governing bodies, giving our students the capacity to work internationally.
Excellent support. UTS provides comprehensive support for international students, including English language support, a multi-faith prayer room, career counselling, health and housing services, sporting facilities and a peer support network.

UTS collaborates closely with industry and research organisations to develop pioneering research solutions, which have a real impact on communities within Australia and abroad. UTS’ commitment to excellence in research was recognised in the 2011 Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) national report. Based on the Report, UTS has been calculated to rank 13th among the Australian universities.
The university has established a reputation for research in traditional and emerging fields, including intelligent systems and quantum computation, infectious diseases, societal change, creative industries, finance, study of choice, nanotechnology and sustainability.
UTS collaborates with universities across Australia through Cooperative Research Centres and is a member of three Australian Research Centres of Excellence.
Alumni
UTS graduates are highly employable and this is reflected in a number of notable UTS alumni. Graduate of the Bachelor of Business, Rob Adams is now a CEO of Challenger Financial Services while graduate of the Bachelor in Business Accounting, David Murray, is the former CEO at the Commonwealth Bank. Other notable alumni include Morris Iemma - Former Premier NSW (Master of Law) and Hugh Jackman - Actor (Bachelor of Arts in Communication - Journalism) and the 2008 Chancellor’s Alumni Award for Excellence).
Scholarships
UTS offers scholarships for international students, available university-wide or for study in particular faculties. Our Academic Excellence and Study Abroad Excellence scholarships, valued at A$2,000 are available for international and study abroad students commencing in 2012. They are awarded for academic achievement to all eligible students and credited to students' first semester fees.
