MIREA – Russian Technological University is a leading Russian state university, the largest educational, scientific, innovation and production cluster in the field of training for high-tech industries, a center for integration of R&D achievements in priority areas of science, engineering and technology.

Today MIREA – Russian Technological University is a major Russian technological university: it boasts over 27 000 students, 2 500 teachers and researchers and enrolls more than 8 000 applicants annually. 

For over 70 years, the University has been training professionals in the field of radio engineering, electronics and telecommunications; it is a leading Russian university in teaching robotics. Training in the field of chemistry has been conducted since the 1900s. 

The University also provides training in more than 500 most popular educational programs on information technologies, nanotechnologies, electronics, biotechnology, cartography and geoinformatics, etc.  

In 2017, MIREA – Russian Technological University was awarded with the UNESCO medal «For Contribution to Development of Nanoscience and Nanotechnologies» for the successful training of students in this field. 

The University develops research schools, creates innovative structures, implements projects and findings that are of great interest in our country and abroad. Researchers pursue R&D projects in 16 areas of science, technology and engineering. Over 25% of the students are actively involved in R&D projects, design work, creation of small-size innovative businesses. 

Focused on the broad engagement of leading scientific centers and enterprises of knowledge-intensive branches of science and technology to the educational process, the University implements a unique system of training «higher education institution — base chair — base enterprise» which ensures high efficiency of the educational process and guarantees fast adaptation of graduates to real conditions of a modern production environment. Today, MIREA — Russian Technological University has more than 50 base chairs at Research Institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, design offices and hi-tech enterprises in Moscow and Moscow region. Having blended general theoretical scientific training and students’ practical hands-on activities at major industrial innovative enterprises using advanced technologies, MIREA — Russian Technological University guarantees students effective training that meets requirements of future employment. 

With much attention paid to modern education and information technologies, RTU MIREA has established specialized world-class educational and research laboratories, educational centers, student design bureaus and academies in collaboration with the world’s leading IT companies: Cisco, Microsoft, EMC, VMware, Huawei, 1C-Bitrix and others.  

The University is a member of a number of international associations and unions, and as a result, most academic mobility programs, including double diploma programs, for students, and teachers are free of charge. About 50 foreign universities and companies from more than 20 countries, such as France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, China, Japan, Taiwan, and others are partners of the University. A number of training programs are certified according to international standards. 

The Institute of International Education of the University has more than 1000 foreign students from 87 countries. Foreign students who do not speak Russian or do not speak Russian sufficiently enough can take a 10-month intensive course at the Pre-university Training Department. The course includes training on the Russian language, Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science which helps foreign students later join Russian-taught full-degree programs. 

MIREA – Russian Technological University has more than 300 student events every year, 30 student scientific associations, 20 creative teams, 7 sports sections. It is in the TOP 10 Universities rating in terms of the average monthly salary of graduates (based on the results of monitoring the employment of graduates of Russian universities by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation). ...
