Founded in 1944, the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University is one of the oldest teacher training universities in Kazakhstan with a well-established reputation in the teacher training market.
The mission of the University is to train teacher leaders who are able to create, develop and disseminate advanced knowledge and values in the field of education for the benefit of the country and the world.
The university has 5 Institutes with 22 Departments:
As part of the implementation of the academic quality policy, every year the University successfully undergoes institutional and subject accreditation by the Independent Accreditation and Rating Agency (IAAR) and subject accreditation by the international agencies ACQUIN (Germany) and ARQA (Kazakhstan). The University also participates in the evaluation of educational programmes of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Atameken" and occupies leading positions in various fields.
Research activities are carried out on the basis of educational and scientific laboratories and centres, such as Research Centre for Chemistry and Biology, Technopark "Digital Lady", Centre for Development of Rural Education, Centre for Social and Gender Studies, Centre for Development of Inclusive and Special Education and many others.
There are 12 student clubs at the university: the Compliance Service club "Sanaly urpaq", the Women's club "Kyz Zhibek", the Public organisation "League of Volunteers of Kazakhstan", the International Non-Profit organisation "Enactus", the Debate club "Union of Real Leaders", the Information and Educational Creative club "Zhastar media" and others. As part of the social support, free psychological, medical, coaching, theological and nutritional services are provided.

The four-year full-time undergraduate programme at Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University aims to provide a teacher education that expands knowledge and awareness in each of the major areas of human knowledge while significantly deepening understanding in one or more of these areas.
The University offers 45 Undergraduate Programmes at 5 Institutes:
Students can enrol in undergraduate programmes in a wide range of disciplines such as education, humanities, arts, social sciences, economics and business, natural sciences, technical sciences and technologies, and service.
In total, the university has about 8000 students, including 5508 undergraduate students. The University implements double degree programmes, academic mobility programmes for students, invites guest professors from different countries of the world leading universities.
Employment of graduates, as a factor of competitiveness of the university, in 2023 was 89.23% for bachelor's degree.
The academic year at the university is divided into semesters, the cost of undergraduate education is $2,000 per year, housing and food are paid additionally. About 97% of students live in the university residence.

Masters and doctoral students at the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University play a central role in the extensive research activities of the University and make a significant contribution to the overall educational process.
The Master's programme was formed in 2002 and is responsible for the majority of the University's postgraduate programmes in the humanities, pedagogical and natural sciences. It offers Master of Arts, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in about 39 educational programmes (25 for Master's and 14 for PhD).
In total, the University has about 350 master's students and 60 doctoral students.
Application documents include transcripts from the university, letters of recommendation, and target application. International students whose native language is not English may have to prove their language proficiency by taking tests such as TOEFL or IELTS.
The academic year at the university is divided into semesters, the cost of postgraduate studies is 4000 USD per year, housing and food are paid additionally.
Employment of graduates , as a factor of competitiveness of the university, in 2023 is about 84% for master's programmes, 100% for doctoral studies.
