To apply for a course, you need to follow the university's admissions process, which typically involves the following steps: 

  1. Check the admissions requirements for your chosen course.  
  2. Submit an online application along with the required documents. 
  3. Take the admission exam: You may be required to take an entrance exam, which tests your proficiency in Arabic and your Islamic knowledge.  
  4. Attend an interview. 
  5. Receive an admission decision.

Admission Requirements: First: Admission Requirements for undergraduate courses: 1. High School certificate or its equivalent from inside or outside Saudi Arabia. 2. High school certificate or its equivalent must not be older than five years after graduation. Though, the university may make an exception to this if there are convincing reasons. Also, the University Senate may stipulate that acceptance is in return for a fee in accordance with clear standards and governance approved by the University Senate, without prejudice to the criteria for admission requirements. 3- Good conduct and behavior. 4- To successfully pass any test or personal interview deemed by the University Senate. 5- To be medically fit. 6- To obtain approval from his employer or authority to study if he works in any governmental or private entity. 7- To fulfil any other conditions determined by the University Senate and announced at the time of application. In addition to the requirements stated above: 1. Candidate must successfully pass any exams announced by the Deanship of Admission and Registration at the time of application. 2. He should not have been dismissed from another university for disciplinary reasons. 3. To undertake to abide by the rules and regulations of the university. 4. Applicant for the Faculty of the Noble Qur’an must have memorized the entire Qur’an. 5. Candidate must fulfil any other conditions specified by the Deanship of Admission and Registration and announced at the time of application. Scholarship students (residents) applying from within Saudi Arabia, must meet the following conditions: 1. He must be a regular resident in the Kingdom and obtain the approval of his sponsor or guardian to study at the university. For external scholarship students, the following conditions are included: 1- External applicant for scholarship should not be less than (17) years and not more than (25) years for the university level and the Arabic language institute or the like, and the university president or his representative may make an exception to this condition for reasons he might consider. 2- Must get the consent of the government of his country to study in the Kingdom for countries that require that for Saudi students. 3- He should not have obtained another scholarship from one of the educational institutions in the Kingdom. 4- His certificates and identification credentials must be certified by the competent authorities determined by the educational institution. 5- He must attend a certificate indicating his freedom from criminal precedents from the security agencies in his country. 6- He must obtain a letter of recommendation from one of the renown bodies, institutions or personalities. With respect to admission to the scientific faculties and the preparatory year, the following applies: 1- Applicant must obtain a high school certificate in a scientific major or its equivalent. 2- External scholarship students must be proficient in Arabic or English based on the regulations approved by the Standing Committee for Academic Affairs. Preference is done between applicants who meet all the conditions according to their grades in the High School Certificate Examination, the personal interview, and the admission tests, if any.   Second: Admission Requirements for postgraduate courses: 1) Applicant should be one of the categories allowed to apply, which are:  Saudis.  Citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.  External scholarship students (provided that the scholarship is not interrupted).  Regular residents in Saudi Arabia (internal scholarships). 2) Applicant must have obtained a certificate from a Saudi university, or from another recognized university, and his qualification must be equivalent to what is approved the Ministry of Education with respect to the Saudis. As for non-Saudis, it shall suffice if their documents are certified by the Saudi Embassy in the country awarding the qualification. 3) Applicant’s grade in the assessment for PhD must not be less than (very good), with GPA of (3.75 out of 5 or 2.75 out of 4). 4) Applicant’s grade for the master’s level should not be less than (very good), with a GPA of (3.75 out of 5 or 2.75 out of 4), except for the faculties of engineering, computer and science programs, in which they are required to have: a) GPA of (3.50 out of 5) or (2.50 out of 4) in the Faculties of Engineering, Science and Computer programs. b) GPA of (2.75 out of 5) or (1.75 out of 4) in (Professional Masters in Industrial Laboratories) at the faculty of Science. 5) Applicant's grade for the Higher Diploma stage must not be less than (Good). 6) For admission to postgraduate studies (diploma - master's - doctorate) it is required to pass the general abilities test for university students with grades not less than (65), provided that the test result is valid and does not exceed five years from the date of the test. 7) Applicant for the scientific faculties must write a statement of purpose of study. 8) External scholarship applicants must not be older than (30) years for the master’s level, and (35) years for the doctorate level (there may be exceptions to this). 9) Applicant must be of good conduct and medically fit. 10) He must submit two scientific recommendations from his previous teachers. 11) An applicant who is employed, must provide the consent of his employer while applying. 12) He must pass the admission test with a minimum score of (70). 13) For admission to the (Master’s and PhD) levels, applicants must give consent to allow the university to make his scientific thesis or research project available in its full text on the university’s websites and local databases - for or without compensation – attributing the researcher work to the author, without the slightest financial or legal obligation on the university. 14) For admission to the (Higher Diploma) level, memorizing (one part) of the Noble Qur’an for non-Shari’ah disciplines, and (three parts) for Shari’ah disciplines is required. Important conditions for successfully passing the postgraduate stages: 1) Student must pass the supplementary courses; if the department decides that the student must take them. 2) Master’s and Ph.D. student must pass the Noble Qur’an test, to be held during the semester following the completion of the courses, according to the following: c) For the (Master’s) stage: Memorization of (five parts) of the Noble Qur’an for Shari’ah disciplines, and (three parts) for Regulations, Islamic Economics, Language and Educational disciplines, and (one part) for scientific disciplines. d) For (PhD) stage: Memorization of (ten parts) of the Noble Qur’an for Shari’ah disciplines, and (five parts) for Regulations, Islamic Economics, Language and Educational disciplines, and (two parts) for scientific disciplines. 3) Student must pass the comprehensive test for the (PhD) stage. 4) In order to successfully pass (PhD) stage, student must have published a research or get it accepted for publication in his discipline. Such research work can be an excerpt from his (PhD) thesis, and this is a condition for accepting his (PhD thesis) and completing the procedures for its discussion. 5) To meet any other conditions that the Council of the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies may deem to include. Note: Any scholarship student who graduated from the bachelor’s stage at Islamic University of Madinah shall have only one opportunity to apply for the (Master’s) stage, as well as the (diploma) stage in the same year, which shall be the last opportunity. Note: All Master’s and PhD programs may have their peculiar additional requirements as may be published in their respect websites from time to time.

A combination of modern and traditional architecture, the Islamic University of Madinah has a large and beautiful campus – in fact, you can take a virtual tour to appreciate the grandeur, beauty and green spaces of the campus.    

The campus is equipped with modern lecture halls and classrooms, libraries, computer and science laboratories, and sports facilities. The campus also has several dining halls and cafes that provide halal food options. There are prayer facilities, including a large mosque, where students can perform their daily prayers.
