Classics
Program Description
Classics at Cambridge offers you new perspectives on the key issues of the twenty-first century. At Cambridge, Classics is not just studied as a period set in the past, but looks at how classical culture, language and philosophy have affected the history of civilisation in the West right up to the present.
Our Classical Tripos aims to provide a broadly based study of classical antiquity through original texts and artefacts and through studying history and culture. Many applicants will be familiar, to varying degrees, with the study of literature, but ancient history, archaeology, art, philosophy and linguistics will offer new perspectives to almost all.
