Range of Fees

Most universities, including Royal Holloway, charge £3,070 a year for tuition of a full-time degree course in September 2007. This money doesn't have to be paid before, or during, a student's time at university. Instead, a student is eligible for a student loan to cover the fees for their course. This loan will only have to be repaid after they have graduated and earning more than £15,000 per annum. Depending on their household income, government maintenance grants of up to £2,765 are also available.

Basic TOEFL/IELTS requirements

IELTS: 6.5 overall. Some departments accept a 6 overall and some departments require a 7 overall. Some departments ask for a 7 in writing.
TOEFL: 570 or 600 (230-250 in the computer based test or 88-100 in the internat based test).

Accommodation

Royal Holloway offers students a variety of accommodation, mostly on campus.
Overseas students are given priority for university accommodation.

Accommodation Range

Costs vary between halls, but all include the cost of heat, light and water. £2,000-£4,000 for a 12-month lease in a shared student residence or hall accomodation

Entry Requirements

All candidates applying to Royal Holloway are considered carefully on their individual merits. The general entrance requirements listed below set the minimum academic requirements for admission to Royal Holloway. In most cases, departmental requirements will be much higher, and you should refer to the admissions section of the departmental entries for this information.

Language Support

Language support is available in the Language Centre and is important even for students whose English proficiency is already very good, since classes cover study skills and techniques for those who are unfamiliar with study in an English language environment.

Non-English Language Requirements

Applicants to Royal Holloway come from a diverse range of backgrounds and bring with them many different kinds of qualification. We accept other qualifications which we consider meet the academic requirements for admission to Royal Holloway including professional qualifications, QAA-recognised Access to Higher Education Certificatem European Baccalaureatem Welsh Baccalaureate, and overseas qualifications. We welcome applications from international students whose qualifications are equivalent to our entrance requirements. We are familiar with a variety of international qualifications and consider applicants on an individual basis.
