At the moment Aalto has altogether 53 Master's degrees in English and 4 Bachelor's programs. Doctoral studies in all fields can be completed in English.
Aalto University School of Science and Technology is the second-oldest technical institution in Finland, and the leading place for science, technology and architecture. There are approximately 15,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students and over 3,500 members of staff. In English, we offer degree programs for a Master of Science in Engineering. There are 28 international Master's programs (including Erasmus Mundus and Nordic Master programs). Every year over 40% of Finland's top students in the field of technology, and 50% of doctoral students, graduate from here.
The School is based in Otaniemi in Espoo, 10 km from the center of Helsinki, on a campus designed by the famous architect Alvar Aalto. Otaniemi has the highest concentration of high technology- research and business- in the Nordic countries. A unique combination of education, study and business is densely packed into this small area. Otaniemi has twice been chosen as one of the most innovative areas in Europe, and it has also been awarded the EU Award of Excellence. Several head offices of some of Finland's largest companies, one of them Nokia, can be found near Otaniemi.
The School of Economics is the leading business school in Finland and a globally acknowledged player in management education. It is recognized for its close ties with the business world, high-quality research and an open, international atmosphere conducive to learning and personal development. In 2007, the School of Economics received the Triple Crown accreditation – AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS – which elevated it into a category shared by only 40 other universities in the world. Due to high-quality research and close relations with the business community the School is able to offer students an educational experience that combines theory with practice. Study curriculum is enriched by case studies, business projects and visiting faculty from all over the world.
With around 4,000 students and some 600 researchers, teachers and service personnel, the School forms an innovative and lively community on two campuses, the main one located in the capital of Helsinki, and the other in Mikkeli. The international students form an important part of the School. Over the years, an extensive exchange network has been developed comprising over 100 partner universities around the world. The School of Economics will continue as an active member of The Global Alliance in Management Education (CEMS) and Partnership in International Management (PIM). These networks provide an excellent platform to improve the quality of business education through joint programs and the benchmarking of best practices.
The School of Art and Design is internationally renowned and dedicated to design, audiovisual communication, art education and art.A bold approach and a curious mind will be rewarded. As the largest art and design education provider in the Nordic countries and one of the most highly respected institutes in its field in the whole world. We have a shared campus in Pori which houses the Department of Art and Media Pori and it is focused on research and teaching in visual culture and media, as well as on producing art, media and culture. The shared space houses experts from 190 different fields and 2500 students. In addition, the city of Vaasa is home to a collaboration between the School of Art and Design and University of Vaasa.
