Greek Universities are legal entities of public law with full self-governance -under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, Lifelong Learning and Religious Affairs- and their mission is determined in the Legal Framework for Higher Education (Nr. 1 N.3549/07 Official Gazette 69 A). Some of them are located outside Thessaloniki or even in other cities.
