Chaoyang University of Technology

Chaoyang University of Technology (CYUT) was founded in 1994. Its vision is to educe for excellence among disciplines. Since the university’s establishment, the principle “diligence, character and action” strives to foster students’ core abilities through the cultivation of being dedicated, courteous, responsible, harmonious, and confident. At the same time, CYUT stays concurrent with industry technological advances, standards, expertise, and self-learning capabilities. This ensures students are trained to meet their professional needs. CYUT comprises 6 colleges and 24 departments, offering 23 master\'s programs and 5 doctoral programs. The current number of students enrolled is about 16,000, including 1,400 graduate students. CYUT’s excellent teaching and research performances have received recognition nationwide.

(1) Partnership Opportunities: Research Centers. CYUT has five globally competitive research centers: 1.) Chaoyang Agro-Tech Center, 2.) Center of Non-Destructive Testing (CNDT), 3.) Research and Development Center for Sustainability of Environmental Resources , 4.) R&D Center of AI (Automatic to Intelligent) Smart Industrial Technology, and 5.) Research Center of Holistic Development for Young Children.

(2) Academic Achievements: CYUT has endeavored to connect with many institutions through each of the continents around the world towards globalization. In recent years, CYUT has gained considerable recognition in some of the renowned international university rankings.

In addition, CYUT has won USR related awards in the past three years as follows:

1.  THE 2024 World University Impact Ranking. CYUT ranked at 601~800. It has been on the world ranking for four consecutive years.

2.  QS 2024  World University Rankings: Sustainability 

3.  From 2020 to 2024, CYUT won the National USR University Citizenship Award. Its ranking is among private vocational institutions.

4.  In the 2023 World Green Energy University Competition, CYUT ranked 26th in the world and has been ranked among the top 100 in the world for 7 consecutive years.

With respect to green bio-technology, its application to Special Chemical Production and Testing at the Department of Applied Chemistry was awarded 2015 Excellent Academic Award from Workforce Development Agency, Ministry of Labor in Taiwan.

Six departments are accredited by the Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET), including Construction Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Environmental Engineering and Management, Computer Science and Information Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, and Landscape and Urban Design.

(3) The Innovation and Incubation ( World Number Two ) Office of Industry-Academia Collaboration (IAC) is posited as a unit for cooperation with the industry at CYUT. Its organization can be divided into Division of IAC Planning and Administration, Division of IP Management and Licensing, Business Incubation Center, Entrepreneurship and Creativity Business Development Center. CYUT Incubator was certified by EC-BIC in 2012 as the first cross-strait incubator and has been the only soft-landing membership so far. Besides European membership, CYUT Incubator also holds membership of NBIA, AABI, and CBIA. CYUT Incubator was awarded number one in Asian-Pacific and number two globally by UBI World Ranking in 2015.
