About Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso
The Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso’s history begins in 1924 with the creation of the Isabel Caces de Brown Foundation, which years later would give birth to the first university in the region of Valparaíso, and the fourth one in Chile.In 1928 the university opened its doors to the community, beginning with an enrollment of 250 students. Today it has an enrollment of more than 14.000 undergraduate and graduate students, receiving every year more than 850 international students.Since its foundation, PUCV has expanded and developed its academic scope to become one of the most important universities in the country. PUCV has 9 faculties and more than 100 Undergraduate, Graduate and Specialization Programs. It has also an accreditation of 6 years in every area, standard of excellence that only 6 universities have in Chile, being the Chilean university with the highest number of certified undergraduate programs in the country. Today PUCV has exchange students, scientific and graduate cooperation agreements with more than 200 Higher Education Institutions in 35 countries. The university belongs to international Mobility networks such as ISA, ISEP and CINDA, connecting our students to more than 200 leading universities worldwide.PUCV has given high standard education to students who have become great professionals and citizens.
