The Universidad Católica de Córdoba  - Catholic University of Cordoba (UCC) - www.ucc.edu.ar, founded in 1956, was the first private university in the country and is the only one in Argentina entrusted to the Society of Jesus.

The University has two campuses: one in the city of Córdoba and the other in the city of Río Cuarto.

In Córdoba, the UCC has three buildings:

  • The 70-hectare University Campus (Av. Armada Argentina 3555).
  • The Center Building “Juan Carlos Scannone S.J.” (Obispo Trejo 323). (Obispo Trejo 323) 
  • The Urban Campus “Pedro Arrupe S.J.”
  • The UCC Río Cuarto Campus, on the other hand, is under construction and its inauguration is scheduled for the middle of the year 2026.

   The Catholic University of Cordoba promotes a comprehensive education. It seeks to form men and women for others. People who develop their talents and put them at the service of the most disadvantaged. Today it is not enough to be good people. It is necessary to be lucid in order to do good, truly committed. That is why it is necessary to be trained -personally and professionally- as well as possible. This is why the UCC seeks to contribute to the development of qualities such as:

  • The sense of solidarity and commitment to transform reality.
  • The value of healthy competition and companionship.
  • The cultivation of our creativity.
  • Health care and respect for the environment.
  • Growth and deepening in faith for those who are believers; and openness to the spiritual dimension for each other.

Mission:

The formation of persons of science, conscience and commitment constitutes the mission of the University, a mission inspired by the Ignatian ideal of constantly surpassing standards of excellence . The highest possible academic level and the integral formation of the person are therefore the pillars that make up its identity. We aspire to be a university that has an impact on the construction of a more just social order, through the formation of competent graduates committed to their reality (teaching); through the production of socially relevant knowledge (research); and through the social projection of the same (extension) in order to influence public policies that improve the quality of life particularly of the most disadvantaged sectors of our society.

Foundational objective:

“The Catholic University of Cordoba has as its purpose the search for truth and the total promotion of man through the humanistic, social, scientific and professional formation of students, through teaching and research in its higher forms and the cultivation of the fine arts. In faith of which it will grant academic and/or professional degrees and/or diplomas. It shall serve the community in accordance with its nature. It has no lucrative purpose. It shall not impose religious discrimination on its students, but shall reflect in its research and teaching the Christian message as taught by the Catholic Church, in an ecumenical search for Truth. It will develop its activities in accordance with the principles that inform the National Constitution and with the republican and democratic institutions of the Nation”. (Art. 4 of the Academic Statute).
