Welcome to ULACIT, the Latin American University of Science and Technology!

Located in downtown San José, Costa Rica, ULACIT is a bilingual university leading higher education in the Central American region since 1987. We offer 53 undergraduate and 42 graduate programs in the Schools of Engineering, Information and Communication Technologies, Film and Animation, Business Administration, Health Sciences, Education, Law and International Relations, as well as 23 master’s degrees in Business Administration, Law, Education and Project Management.

Our offering of courses taught fully in the English language is ample; 70 courses taught regularly in the English language in the fields of Business, Political Science, International Relations, Liberal Arts and the Humanities.

Study in Costa Rica to cover more credits within a year on a 100% Project-based Education

We work anually with three quarterly academic periods (Spring, Summer and Fall), which have a 15-week duration each, with two week vacations between them. By enrolling in ULACIT, students can cover more credits within a year. Each course covers 45 to 60 contact hours per academic period, representing 3 to 4 US credits or 6 to 8 ECTS credits per course.

All our teaching strategies are project-based, with no traditional exams. Learning´s grounded on inquiry, research, case studies, problem-solving and service learning experiences, under the Teaching for Understanding (TfU) framework, developed by Harvard University’s Project Zero.

Study Abroad with us and choose from the following Academic Programs:

- Regular Degree Courses or Enrollment on our academic programs taught 100% in the English language  from our International Relations, Business Management and Liberal Arts and Humanities Academic Programs
- Summer Programs in International Business and Sustainable Development Studies (two seasons spanning from late May to early August)
- Spanish Language Immersion Program (Seven levels of language proficiency. Available Courses: January 4-Week; June 4-Week; July 4-Week; August 4-Week; September 4-Week)

Our Global Education Office also develops customized academic programs and global education experiences that cater to the specific needs of institutions, third party-providers, faculty-led initiatives or specific student groups.  Whether you want to offer a course taught by your own faculty or a customized course in an area of interest, ULACIT provides the expert academic support, resources, and flexibility you need to create your own study abroad experiences in Costa Rica.
