The Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) is a public university with its head office in Natal, the capital of the Brazilian State of Rio Grande do Norte, on the North-eastern coast. According to an evaluation by the Ministry of Education, UFRN is one of the best higher education institutions in the country and the main university center in the State. In addition, it is one of the ten biggest Brazilian universities in number of undergraduate students (36,000). It has 2 campi in Natal and 5 in the countryside. It offers 78 undergraduate courses, 7 as distance learning, covering the majority of knowledge areas. It offers 21 medical internships and 82 strito sensu graduate courses (52 masters and 30 doctorates). It coordinates the largest research project and graduate courses group in the State.
