FURB Universidade Regional de Blumenau

FURB was the first college in the inland cities of the state of Santa Catarina and was created in 1964, as the result of a community movement, to make access to higher education more comprehensive. 

Over the last 50 years, the institution has achieved important positions in the higher education scenario in Brazil through teaching, research, culture, and community extension.

FURB is one of the main universities in the region with structure and support to receive students from other countries. The institution has agreement with more than 80 universities abroad, agreements that also cover important research in the national and international scenario.

Located in Blumenau, one of the most German cities in Brazil, FURB has more than 40 undergraduate courses, 14 master's and 4 PhDs programs, specialization courses and high school. In addition, we have the second largest library in the state of Santa Catarina, radio station and educational TV channel, more than 240 laboratories, complete sports complex, professors with international background and recognition, university hospital and polyclinic, center of legal practices, research in partnerships with public and private intuitions in Brazil and abroad.
