Commencement is a special time in the life of every college or university, and I am eagerly anticipating my first Commencement at Wake Forest. I am grateful for the warm welcome I have received as president, punctuated by many memorable events during the last year. I trust that your years at Wake Forest will culminate with a memorable Commencement weekend as you celebrate with family, friends and faculty members who share in your accomplishments.

I am especially pleased that so many academic departments will be having receptions on the Sunday afternoon of Commencement weekend. I am proud of the Wake Forest faculty and hope you will attend the reception sponsored by your son or daughter's major area to meet some of these outstanding scholars and teachers.

Tickets are required for many of the weekend's events. I encourage you to return your reservation form and make travel arrangements early. I look forward to celebrating this milestone with you in May.
