Once called "the first American university" by educational historian Frederick Rudolph, Cornell University represents a distinctive mix of eminent scholarship and democratic ideals. Enables students in the traditional liberal arts to pursue graduate school opportunities they may not otherwise have been able to pursue.

Students who intend to pursue graduate study in the arts, humanities, or social sciences, and who must have a record of receiving need-based financal aid to support their undergraduate study. Students without such a record are not eligible.
