La Trobe University is one of Australia’s leading research and teaching universities and has an international reputation for academic excellence and innovation.

A multi-campus university, La Trobe was established in 1967 and now has seven campuses in Victoria, in the south-east of Australia. The University has more than 28,000 students, including approximately 4500 international students from over 90 countries, and 3,000 staff.

La Trobe University has a comprehensive academic profile with 425 degree programs offered through five faculties: the Faculty of Law and Management, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Science, Technology and Engineering.

The University’s courses and research programs are highly respected by employers and academic institutions both within Australia and internationally. Our research strategy promotes innovation, specialisation and collaboration. The University’s main Melbourne (Bundoora) campus is located 40 minutes from the city centre. La Trobe University is also one of the strongest providers of regional campus education in Australia with campuses in Bendigo, Albury-Wodonga, Shepparton and Mildura. La Trobe University has a strong commitment to internationalisation and currently has over 200 international links in research, teaching and exchange. Faculty

Undergraduate Information

Number of Undergraduate Students Headcount: 21,945 FTE: 17,646

Number of students pursuing a Bachelor’s level or equivalent degree. This excludes certificates/diplomas and associate’s degrees.

Number of International Undergraduate Students Headcount: 3,736 FTE: 2,787

Number of undergraduate students who are foreign nationals. The term 'international' is hereby determined by citizenship. For EU countries, this includes all foreign nationals, even nationals of other EU states. In Hong Kong, this includes students from Mainland China. In case of dual citizenship, the 'deciding' criteria should be 'citizenship obtained through birth', basically first passport obtained. Please exclude all exchange students. As for language students, if the language students take up a particular language course that is outlined as 'undergraduate degree program' they should be included under 'international undergraduate students' . Language students who take part in a course not contributing to a degree qualification should be counted under 'Total International Students'.
