Main claims to international academic or non-academic excellence

As the continuing education arm of UC Irvine, Extension offers over 4,000 university-level and professional and personal enrichment courses, including nearly 40 certificates programs and 13 specialized studies program each year. Through English & Certificates for Internationals, Extension serves over 2,000 international students from over 40 countries per year.

The mission of English & Certificates for Internationals is to offer life-enriching academic, professional, and cultural experiences to international audiences in environments specifically tailored to their needs. These experiences include superior English-language and professional-content instruction and a wide variety of support services, including housing and organized cultural activities to foster international students’ adjustment to and competence in participating in American Life.

Range of Fees

From $6000.00 to $6500.00 USD (United States Dollars) (depending on the course)

Our cancelation policy is as follows:
Prior to program start date: 100% of refundable fees.
Prior to the end of the first week of classes: 50% of refundable fees.
After the end of the first week of classes: No refund.

Non-refundable fees include: $150.00 registration/enrollment fee, $150.00 housing placement fee, and $300.00 housing reservation deposit.

Basic TOEFL/IELTS requirements

A minimum score of 197 on the CBT TOEFL, 71 on the iBT, 530 on the paper-based test; 710 on the TOEIC; or other evidence of advanced English language proficiency. Consent of the Admissions Committee.

A university degree and/or substantial academic or professional experience.

Accommodation

UC Irvine has many facilities to accommodate student needs. Computer labs equipped with free internet are available for students and free wireless internet at most locations on campus. There are many dining choices on campus as well as other local restaurants within walking distance. There is also a new state-of-the-art recreation center where students can participate in sports and other physical activities.

Accommodation Range

Purchasing a meal plan on campus ranges from $365.00 to $400.00 per academic quarter. UC Irvine offers a variety and selective choice of gourmet food options. Students can purchase a meal plan and dine from either one of the three on-campus cafeterias. Additionally, students can purchase food from any of the restaurants and the new Student Center located on campus, and as well as the University Town Center shopping plaza right across the street from the main campus. Entry Requirements

A university degree and/or substantial academic or professional experience.

Language Support

UC, Irvine - Extension offers a variety of English language support courses. Courses include 10-Week Intensive ESL, 4-Week Business English, and 4-Week Conversation and Culture.

Here, you will learn and practice using English for everyday conversation in a fun and interactive way, preparing for university-level study, career advancement, and personal goals.
