Coaching Psychology (MSc)

Working life is complex and organisations are looking to executive coaching to help them work through the demands and challenges they face. The Department of Organizational Psychology at Birkbeck recognises the issues that organisations experience and have the expertise to support those demands. Birkbeck’s MSc Coaching Psychology expands on one’s successful Postgraduate Certificate in Coaching Psychology, offering the opportunity for a deep exploration of this helping relationship. The programme combines practical and theoretical study to not only develop one’s professional expertise but also give a greater self-awareness and understanding. Students will investigate pragmatically and critically how coaching works in organisations and how it is an important skill for leaders. The skills and knowledge you gain from this MSc can be applied within one’s organisation and to leadership roles and help to progress a career in coaching. Graduates can expect to apply their coaching skills either in their existing leadership role, or as an internal coach. Others may choose to pursue executive leadership coaching as a career.
