The MA in Creative and Critical Writing offers blended learning in the interconnected fields of creative writing and critical thinking. It combines practice-based learning in creative writing with study in contemporary literature, culture and criticism. Modules exploring critical debates on experimental literature, media, popular culture and technology give students the opportunity to develop their thinking skills, while modules and workshops in creative writing enable them to develop and hone their creative writing skills, whether in fiction, non-fiction, or hybrid forms. A final dissertation allows students to develop a substantial piece of work, comprising either two interconnected creative and critical portions, or one hybrid creative-critical text. Teaching consists of specialist lectures and seminars, as well as practice-led workshops, and individual tutorial feedback. The MA in Creative and Critical Writing is an exciting opportunity for learning and craft in a growing field.
