At the same time, students can develop a working understanding of how media impacts fields such as arts, curating, design, education, literature, museums, performance, politics and activism. Before proceeding to the main degree, students will spend their Foundation Year preparing themselves for a degree in the arts by improving their study and research skills and gaining arts-related knowledge and understanding. Students will also have the opportunity to take a language module as part of the Foundation Year. Upon successful completion of the Foundation Year, students can automatically progress on to the three-year, full-time evening study BA Media and Culture. Graduates can pursue careers in the media and cultural industries, for example in film, television, newspapers, online publishing, digital media management, magazines, trade publications and public relations. This degree can also provide transferable skills and knowledge to work in cultural and educational institutions, public policy or professional communications.
