It’s been a month since the launch of the 2014 QS University Rankings: Asia, which highlights the 300 top universities in Asia, and we’ve enjoyed celebrating the region’s higher education leaders – as well as the excuse to highlight some of our other favorite things about Asia (and by “things”, I mean “food”). In case you missed any of the coverage, here’s an overview of the most popular articles, guides and blog posts connected with this year’s Asian ranking.

Top universities in Asia – overall trends

We kicked off with an overview of the changes at the top of this year’s QS University Rankings: Asia, particularly exploring the rise of leading universities in Singapore and South Korea... Read more >

This was accompanied by a brief summary of key trends and challenges for major Asian education hubs, including Hong Kong, Japan and China… Get the summary here >

The rankings release also coincided with the second edition of Pearson’s Learning Curve report, which highlighted the educational strengths of Asian countries such as South Korea, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong… We explored that here >

And of course, we couldn’t let a rankings release go by without a good old “Top 10”, with pictures of course… See the top 10 universities in Asia this year >

Top universities in Asia for…

Continuing the list theme, many of the most popular articles we’ve published have been a series exploring the top universities in Asia for different subject areas. These lists are based on the global academic reputation survey, which asks academics worldwide to name the universities they perceive as strongest in their own field of expertise.

Country guides and a culinary tour

Finally, we took the opportunity to update our student-focused country guides for some of the most popular Asian study destinations, including Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea and Hong Kong. (See all the Asian countries we have covered here.)

After all that, we were feeling a bit peckish, so we took ourselves on an (imaginary) culinary tour of Asia’s top student cities, from chili crab in Singapore to shojin ryori in Kyoto. Mmmmm…

For now, we’re busy celebrating the top universities in Latin America, and all that region has to offer for prospective students – and getting ready to focus on the BRICS countries, with the new edition of the QS University Rankings: BRICS coming soon, on 18 June.

Is there anything we’ve missed? Share your suggestions in the comments below.

(Edit: a final late addition - a guide to 10 of the best cultural festivals in Asia, from mud baths and water fights to lanterns and dragon boats. Amazing!)
