Who's Blogging?
By Staff W
Updated April 4, 2018 Updated April 4, 2018Meet our regular bloggers:
Valeria
Always too lazy to cook for herself, Valeria does enjoy cooking for others, which she knows is pretty irrational - especially for an economics student! A sports enthusiast, she's currently discovering the artistic side of martial arts through Wushu – that crazy-dance-looking thing Bruce Lee was practising. She also has a weakness for challenges, so if you want to cause her sleepless nights, just give her a riddle to solve.
She gets a headache from shopping, but luckily, being a master's student in Amsterdam (originally from Romania) does not leave too much time for that! Currently focusing on behavioral economics, she's planning to get some researching (or soul searching) work experience before starting a PhD in this field.
Zain
Having spent several years working in the media industry, Zain is currently preparing to start a Master of Journalism and International Relations in Australia.
Florence
A knowledge enthusiast, she loves researching higher education as she believes university students have the power to change the world for the better. Currently taking a gap year before starting at the University of Cambridge in October, she also loves playing the ukulele, watching nature documentaries, listening to Blur and surfing the internet.
Moynaa
Originally from India, she did her undergraduate in English Literature at the University of Edinburgh and postgraduate in Media and Communications at LSE. With a passion for dance and theatre, belly dancing is the current favorite. Having lived in the UK for the past seven years, she now knows the ins and outs of applying for Schengen visas and study/work visas.
Danny
Compulsive reader, film buff and wearer of outlandish glasses, Danny is one of QS's resident rankings commentators, and has recently relocated from trendy East London to even trendier Williamsburg, New York.
Thomas
Originally from Michigan, USA, Thomas received his BA in Public Relations and Psychology from Northern Michigan University, where he also got the opportunity to study abroad at American International University in London. During his semester in the UK, he discovered a passion for its capital city and decided to get his MA Transnational Media and Globalization at City University, London. Although Finnish by heritage, he handles all of QS’s events in Asia, therefore, making him an honorary Asian.
Thomas is known in the blogging world for his honest take on London’s best after-dark hangouts.
Mansoor
After an ill-fated 18 months writing about woodworking (he is more likely to drink a screwdriver than make a chair with one), Mansoor joined QS last May, with TopUniversities.com as his main stomping ground. He was born in Pakistan, but grew up in Derbyshire and now lives in north London. He will not be going back to Derbyshire any time soon. Mansoor is an English literature graduate, with a BA from the University of Leicester, and an MA from University College London.
As well as writing on higher education, Mansoor also plays and reviews music – but rarely at the same time.
Vickie
Upon returning to Hong Kong, she soon left its mild winters to face the bitter cold at The University of Edinburgh where she received her undergraduate degree in Business Studies and Law. Vickie plays volleyball and netball (when there’s no frost on the ground) and blogs about men’s style when she’s feeling bored or inspired.
She enjoys discussing the joys and tribulations of holding multiple passports.
Laura
In between graduating from Oxford in 2007 and completing an MA at UCL in 2010, Laura spent her time writing magazine articles on “oooh all kinds of things”. As a result, she now knows how to play bike polo and why snail slime is good for your skin.
She dislikes writing about herself in the third person.
