Master of Chemical Engineering Technology

This master’s programme provides in-depth, interdisciplinary training in chemical engineering as practised in various contexts and sectors. The programme’s main focus is learning to design, execute, test and improve industrial processes in a chemically and technologically responsible way. In addition to fundamental (bio)chemical coursework, the curriculum includes coursework in socio-economics, chemical process technology, surface chemistry, environmental technology etc.

About the programme

The Master of Chemical Engineering Technology covers a wide variety of disciplines. You will learn to design, execute, test and improve industrial processes in a chemically and technologically responsible way. In addition, you will learn to research, develop and apply new materials such as polymers, composites, metals and ceramics. The curriculum includes courses in the fields of socio-economics (company management, economics) as well as chemical technology (engineering, separation techniques, chemical process technology, industrial process technology, surface chemistry, environmental technology etc.).

A flexible cross-campus elective package (multicampus module) and a master's thesis conducted in either a research-specific or industrial context enable you to focus your studies according to your specific interests and career goals.

Career perspectives

The broad and fascinating field of the chemical industry includes employment opportunities in petrochemical, synthetic, and pharmaceutical areas. Upon completion of this master’s programme, you will be fully trained and highly skilled, ready to enter the professional workplace.

Besides employment by the government, private and non-profit organisations and institutions, you may also set up an applied research project and design activities on a self-employed basis.
