The social and intellectual life of the Faculty is enhanced by the Postgraduate Arts and Humanities Centre (PAHC) which provides:HARTS Online, an online community, news and events portalA thorough research development programmeA space for cross-disciplinary discussion, support and experimentationHive, an academic e-journal, edited by current studentsRAH!, an innovative programme of socially and culturally engaged public engagement events.Our research is also enhanced through several specialist research centres and institutes including:Research Centre for Applied Social Sciences (RCASS), which undertakes interdisciplinary research designed to make a real policy impact at a local, regional, national and global level.Policy Evaluation and Research Unit (PERU), which provides methodologically rigorous evaluations of policies, programmes and projects.Manchester Centre for Youth Studies, which delivers youth-informed, youth-led research that positively impacts on young people’s lives and increases academic understandingCrime & Well-being Big Data Centre, which uses big data to provide new insights into enduring societal challenges.The Substance Use and Addictive Behaviours (SUAB) Research Group pursues interdisciplinary research ensuring its research findings are applied in both policy and practice.
