Al-Hussein Bin Talal University (AHU) was founded in 1999 and was the first higher educational institution established during the reign of H.M. King Abdullah II. AHU is a public coeducational university located in the heart of the southern region, 210 KM from the Capital of Amman, and 27 KM to Petra.
AHU is a comprehensive public university in a self-contained campus and has a student population representing nearly every Governorate in Jordan. Over the past few years, AHU has grown to include nine colleges in different disciplines: Natural and Environmental Sciences, Nursing, IT, Engineering, Business, Law, Education, and Humanities, offering 48 bachelor’s programs, 16 master’s programs, 1 Diploma, and 1 Ph.D. program.
In addition, AHU has two Deanships: The Deanship of Student Affairs and the Deanship of Scientific Research. Moreover, AHU has nine scientific centers that are heavily engaged in research and development projects. The goal of these centers is to serve local and national communities, improve students’ life quality and knowledge delivery in various study programs.
