  • Thailand is an affordable study destination, with plenty of universities that have performed well in QS Stars
  • Universities in Thailand offer a high-quality education on well-provisioned campuses

Looking for a university in Southeast Asia that’s guaranteed to provide you with a high-class education? While Thai universities may not be among the most prestigious or well-known institutions globally, many of them have performed extremely well in our QS Stars university ratings.

QS Stars assess universities across a much more extensive range of measures than a normal university ranking and provide information on a much wider range of institutions. For example, while only 10 universities from Thailand feature in the 2022 edition of the QS World University Rankings, 14 institutions from Thailand have been evaluated as part of QS Stars.

Here are just some of the reasons why you should consider studying in Thailand.

High-quality teaching and a great student experience

As with many Asian countries, education is highly valued and extremely important in Thailand. The Thai government’s goal is to put Thai universities at the forefront of science and technology, likely a result of the country’s strong economy and the modern advances it is experiencing and will continue to experience.

International students who study in Thailand can take advantage of the fantastic education available there. The institutions that were evaluated by QS Stars excelled in the student satisfaction surveys indicating positive feedback on teaching and overall student experience.

An affordable study destination

Thailand has one of the strongest economies in Southeast Asia and is experiencing rapid changes in modern society. The cost of living is extremely low, making it the perfect destination for international students on a budget who want to make the most of their limited funds.

Multicultural campuses with great facilities

According to the QS Stars analysis, Thailand institutions particularly excel in the Internationalisation category compared to other Southeast Asian locations. Moreover, two-thirds of the institutions assessed in the Facilities category received five stars, so campuses are typically well-provisioned for every student’s needs.

A less conventional student experience

About 54 percent of American international students choose a European study destination. With only 11 percent of the global ‘study abroad’ population going to Asian destinations, choosing Thailand means you’re guaranteed a unique student experience.

Non-traditional locations such as Thailand offer myriad opportunities and experiences that you won’t get at home or in other Western countries. Are you ready to step outside of your comfort zone for a culturally immersive study abroad experience?
