The Biomedical Science degree provides students with the essential skills required by professional biomedical scientists at the purpose designed Science Centre under the guidance of specialist academics. Their expertise includes clinical biochemistry, medical microbiology, clinical immunology, cellular pathology and molecular diagnostics. Students will spend most of the class contact time in the laboratory. This degree is ideal for anyone who wishes to become a registered biomedical scientist with the NHS. This route involves taking a 14-week clinical placement and completion of the registration portfolio, which will make one eligible to apply for Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration when they graduate.
