QS Student Writers write about student life at their university, helping others learn more about what it's really like to study at their university and sharing their experiences - from nights out to cramming for exams, starting university to graduation.

We’re looking to hear from students all around the world, across a range of different subject areas. So, wherever you’re from, wherever you’re studying and whatever your interests, please get in touch.

What do QS Student Writers write about?

We want to hear first-hand about your university experiences. Whatever you’re interested in, we’d love to hear about it.

Articles should be fun, engaging and based on your own personal experiences or areas of interest.

Topics covered by QS Student Writers in the past have included:

  • Favourite study spots in their town/city
  • Best cafes/nightclubs for students
  • Advice for students studying abroad in a particular country
  • Things to see and do in your spare time
  • Work placement diaries
  • Revision tips
  • Budgeting and financial advice
  • Scholarship application advice

Whatever you write is ultimately down to you. After your application to be a QS Student Writer has been approved, you'll have the chance to discuss ideas with one of our editorial team. Feel free to pitch anything you think would be interesting for our student audience.

After you have agreed an idea with our team, you're free to start writing. There are no deadlines or firm commitments - just send us your article once it's finished.

Please don't send us any articles before an idea has been agreed with our editors, as we can't guarantee we'll be able to publish them.

Why should I sign up?

  • Earn £30 (or local currency equivalent) for every article of yours that we publish
  • NOTE: Payment will be handled via PayPal only. If you have no access to PayPal in your country, we will be unable to pay you for your article.

Am I eligible?

In order to be accepted as a QS Student Writer, you must be studying at either undergraduate or postgraduate level, either within your own country or abroad. You will be asked to provide proof of academic enrolment, ideally by using a university email address.

NOTE: Payment will be handled via PayPal only. If you have no access to PayPal in your country, we will be unable to pay you for your article.

How do I apply?

If you'd like to be considered, please email [email protected] with the subject line QS Student Writers.

Your email needs to include:

  • Name, age and location
  • University and education level
  • Subject(s)/degree(s) you're currently studying
  • Why you'd like to write for us
  • 3x ideas for possible articles
  • One example of your writing, either published elsewhere or attached as a Word document
  • Proof of academic enrolment (e.g. university email address, student ID)
  • Confirmation that you have access to a PayPal account
