In the first year of the Building-Architecture Degree Programme, students will gain a solid foundation in the disciplines of mathematics, physics, history and representation. More specifically, with regard to mathematics and physics, students will gain an understanding of scientific and experimental methods and acquire the knowledge necessary to resolve technical problems relating to the concept and design of buildings and real estate. With regard to the history of architecture, students will gain a historical understanding of architectural works and the ability to critically evaluate them in relation to their context and the techniques employed. As regards the methods used to visually represent architecture and living space, students will learn about the different aspects of the discipline as a tool of knowledge, elaboration and communication of the design concept.

This learning path will be consolidated in the second year through more in-depth study of the mathematics, physics, history and representation subject disciplines. Students will also learn about the tools and methods employed in the realization of the architectural project as a fusion of form, function and construction, the typological, morphological and linguistic features of the architectural structure, and the recovery and restoration of buildings. In the final year, the programme covers the technical and scientific methods and techniques used in the design of the structural and systemic components of simple constructions, touching also on matters related to territorial governance, and is aimed at ensuring an integrated approach to the different aspects of the space to be studied and transformed.

Throughout the degree programme, students will undertake applied activities in the form of multidisciplinary workshops and exercises, indispensable not only in order to verify the knowledge acquired, but also in order to promote, as in most European countries, an integrated education, open to dialogue with specialists in the various technological and scientific sectors involved in the construction or re-qualification of buildings and simple real estate.

This programme is available in Italian.
