The post-graduate Master's degree programme in Interpreting aims to train professional interpreters skilled in handling inter-linguistic/intercultural oral communication in the fields of: politics and institutions, economics and law, science and technology. Such skills will be applicable in Italian and international institutions, and in the freelance market. In line with these goals, the Master's degree programme includes: in-depth study of the principles of interpreting; exercises to perfect the command of Italian and the other languages chosen for study; exercises to help acquire the various techniques of interpretation; activities to learn how to make stylistic choices and discourse analysis in its various modes; exercises to practise research techniques.

To enrol in the post-graduate Master's degree programme in Interpreting candidates must possess a basic grounding in the culture and literature of their chosen languages, as well as communication skills to use in inter-linguistic and intercultural interactions from and into Italian and at least two foreign languages. Candidates are required to have a C1 level of competence in these languages which, according to the common European framework of reference for languages, entails the ability to understand a wide range of long and complex oral texts, to understand their implicit meaning, to express oneself fluently and spontaneously, to use the language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and work purposes, to produce clear, articulate, cohesive and well-structured oral texts on complex topics.
