Bachelor of Mediterranean History, Societies and Cultures

The Degree Programme in Mediterranean History, Societies and Cultures aims to produce graduates able to address a range of key issues in the modern world:
intercultural cohabitation, the processes of integration, citizenship and rights, cooperation, the protection and promotion of cultural heritage, the sustainable use of resources and interaction with the environment (particularly the marine environment), social organisation and transformation, interfaith dialogue, economic relationships with emerging markets (the Arab world, North Africa, West Africa, Eastern Europe and the Balkans), the relationship between European integration and the southern Mediterranean, problem solving and scenario analysis.

The aim is to prepare students for professional roles in the field of historical and anthropological education and culture, in education and research, and in the management of intercultural relationships and the dynamics related to territorial security. Graduates will also be qualified to take on roles of responsibility in various public and private sectors, such as cultural and museum organisations, national and European Union public institutions and international organisations. They may also perform roles related to the organisation and promotion of cultural and artistic events (shows, exhibitions, festivals, etc.) and work in businesses and organisations interested in Mediterranean markets and in their relationship with North European, Atlantic and Middle Eastern markets.
