With multidisciplinary learning activities integrating basic and agricultural sciences with various others concerning green and landscape management, the degree programme trains expert agronomists in green and landscape able to work both in the production and marketing of ornamental plants and related technical means and products, as well as in the design and management of green systems and areas.


In particular the degree programme provides students with knowledge and competencies in basic botanical and agri-environmental subjects, the agricultural management of green areas, agricultural chemistry and pedology for green and the landscape, cultivation and management of ornamental trees, plants and shrubs and their use in the design of green areas, ecology and the management of plants and forestry systems, cartography and land survey systems, the history of gardens and the landscape, the design and management of green areas and systems and the related drawing and representation systems, evaluation of the plant health and defence of ornamental plants from diseases and harmful insects both in the production and design and management of green areas, irrigation, drainage and machinery for green management, economic subjects to evaluate and manage nurseries and green works.


With assisted practical work carried out in the various course units and study activities as well as in individual study, the final examination and the internship, the Degree Programme also helps students to develop appropriate judgement skills, communication skills and the ability to continuously further and update their knowledge in the fields of interest of this professional figure.


The curriculum includes a mandatory internship. The first two years provide interdisciplinary knowledge and competencies in basic subjects as well as in the production of ornamental plants and the design and management production of green systems and areas.


Through the division into curricula, in the third year students acquire knowledge and competencies for further studies in one of the aforementioned areas, with particular reference to cultivation, defence and quality improvement systems, techniques and structures, also using sustainable agronomic techniques, as well as design criteria and management techniques for the implementation and contextualisation of landscape design, with a view to environmental sustainability and health promotion.
