In the professional health field of Podiatry, graduates are health workers with duties attributed by decree of the Ministry of Health no. 665 of 14 September 1994 and amendments; in compliance with the law, after an objective foot examination, they use non-invasive, orthesic and hydro-massage therapy methods to treat callosities, hypertrophic, misshaped and ingrown toenails and foot pain. Under medical prescription, Podiatry graduates prevent and medicate ulcerations on foot warts and assist patients at risk through health education, identifying and pointing out to the physician any suspicious pathological conditions which require further diagnosis or treatment; they work in public or private facilities as employees or on a freelance basis.

To achieve the specific learning outcomes of the programme, 21 ECTS are allocated to subject area MED/50 as part of podiatry sciences and 60 ECTS to the internship activities, which are differentiated for each specific profile.

This programme is available in Italian.
