You’ll explore the world through a child’s eyes and unlock your potential. Forge a rewarding career with children and families in a variety of early years settings.


Working with young children is hugely rewarding and enormous fun. It can also be very challenging, and it’s a fast-paced sector. We’ll help you develop the skills, knowledge and qualities needed to deliver a high standard of professional practice in the workplace.


Our course has been designed to develop your understanding of professional and inclusive practice, supporting both the child and the family. Using theory and practical experiences you’ll explore current research around key topics including contemporary theories and pedagogical approaches, while building your leadership skills and considering possible careers across the early childhood sector.


You’ll have the opportunity to achieve your Early Childhood Practitioner Competencies, ensuring you are graduating with a full and relevant early years qualification to meet the requirements of the graduate workforce.


If you have already completed a foundation degree (or equivalent), you can gain a full honours degree in just one or two years with our Top-Up options.

Main: 80 UCAS Tariff points from a minimum of 2 A Levels (or equivalent). 5 GCSEs at grade C, or grade 4, or above, including English. Evidence of work with young children is required. If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.0 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University. An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will also be required. A satisfactory Occupational Health clearance will also be required.
Notes: A maximum of 8 UCAS Tariff points may come from the Extended Project at Grade A or A*. If you have already achieved your Access to HE results and are unsure if we can consider you, please contact us.
Alternatives: UCAS Tariff points acquired from BTEC Level 3 Diplomas are accepted. UCAS Tariff points from Access to HE Diplomas are accepted. International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 24 points is accepted. UCAS Tariff points from Scottish Advanced Highers are accepted. UCAS Tariff points from Scottish Highers are accepted. UCAS Tariff points from the Irish Leaving Certificate are accepted.
