In 1992, the Civil Engineering program was established and offered under the Civil Engineering Department/Applied Science University (ASU). The program is accredited by ABET Accreditation, the Higher Education Accreditation Council and by the Ministry of Higher Education in Jordan. The degree conferred by this program is the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and the delivery mode employed is traditional on-campus lecture/laboratory during the day on week days. To fulfill the requirements of this degree, a student must complete 160 credit hours and a practical training for 8 consecutive weeks in civil engineering firms and organizations that are considered certified by the department. There is one curricular path to obtain the degree. The program required students to complete 33 credit hours of mathematics and sciences which is equivalent to one year of study.
